No cheer for imbibers as Delta beer prices go up

Beer drinkers will now dig deeper into their pockets to enjoy the wise waters after Delta Beverages hiked its wholesale prices effective today.

This is the second increase in as many month after beer prices also went up by more than 80 percent early last month.

According to the new price list gleaned by The Anchor, quarts for brown bottles such as the Castle and Lion lager brands have been increased by $48.74 for the case to $292.41 or $24.37 per bottle from $20.30.

Pints for the brown bottles have gone up to $331.40 a crate from $272.91 giving a difference of $58.49.

New wholesale prices for green bottle quarts – Zambezi, Pilsener, Castle Lite and Bohlingers have been increased by $$99.43 from $292.41 to $391.84 per crate.

A case of 330 ml cans of Castle or Lion Lagers made up of 24 units is now at $404.05 from $323.79, increasing by $80.26.

A pack of Zambezi, Zambezi Lite Pilsener, Castle Lite or Bohlingers 440 mls cans has been put at $569.49 from $364.27 giving a price hike of $205.22.

Non-returnable bottles mainstream 340ml is now $406.78 and non-returnable bottles Premium: Pilsener, Zambezi, Castle Lite or Bohlingers pack is now $447.46.

Sorghum beer brand Chibuku Super 1.25 litre six pack is now at $99.5 from $79.6 which will be same as for 1.5 litre Scud Chibuku pack.

Castle cask is now at $812.25.
