Air travel passenger numbers across the region show a steady recovery and growth in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to recent statistics covering January to August. Total passenger movements increased from approximately 1.45 million in the first eight months of 2024 to about 1.6 million in the same period in 2025, marking an overall growth of 9.8%.
The data indicates consistent month-to-month increases, with notable jumps in May and August. For instance, August passenger movements rose by 12.6% from the previous year, reaching over 267,500 travelers. International passenger numbers also experienced strong growth, contributing significantly to the overall upward trend. The report highlights that the peak months of July and August saw the most substantial gains, reflecting a robust rebound in travel demand.
Experts suggest that these positive figures are driven by increased global movement post-pandemic, easing travel restrictions, and enhanced airport and airline capacities. The steady growth signals optimism for the travel sector’s recovery and points to a promising outlook for the remainder of 2025, with airlines and airports likely to ramp up operations to meet growing traveler demand.
