President of Lawyers for ED, Melissa Tinotendaishe Dinha, tied the knot with her Cameroonian husband, Ezekiel Balbara Domsala.
Melissa is the daughter of Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Mercy Marowa Dinha and Advocate Dinha
Speaking as guest of honour at the wedding, Minister of State Marion Chombo described the marriage as a union symbolizing ties between Zimbabwe and Cameroon.
“You are going to Cameroon to represent Zimbabwe as a nation. Make sure you are a good ambassador of our cultural values there. We expect more husbands through you,” she advised Melissa.
Chombo also urged women to uphold cultural values in marriage, encouraging them to respect their husbands regardless of their educational achievements.
“I pray that you go and submit to your husband. Yes, you are learned, but there is no education in the home. Many of us are educated but not married because we told ourselves we are learned and untouchable,” she said.
She further praised Domsala for his choice, saying
“He could have chosen a beautiful jewel in Cameroon, but he came to Zimbabwe and picked a damsel here.”
The colourful ceremony, attended by family, friends, and dignitaries, marked the beginning of the couple’s journey together.
A second wedding celebration is set to take place in Cameroon next month, after which Melissa is expected to relocate there to join her husband and continue her professional work while embracing her new role as a cultural ambassador.
