HARARE – TelOne has launched TelOne Connect, a revolutionary Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution designed to meet Zimbabwe’s growing demand for high-quality, cost-effective voice communication.
The company described TelOne Connect as a bold leap forward in how Zimbabwe communicates, built on the principles of affordability, security, and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for modern Zimbabweans.
The launch comes against a backdrop of increasing internet penetration, now exceeding 30%, and mobile voice traffic surpassing 4.2 billion minutes in the first quarter of 2025 alone. Despite the rise of data-driven communication, voice remains a vital component of Zimbabwe’s telecommunications landscape, with Fixed VoIP subscriptions on the rise.
Speaking during the launch in the capital today, TelOne CEO Eng. Lawrence Nkala noted that, “TelOne Connect is our strategic response to this growing demand, a flexible VoIP solution accessible via smartphone and desktop, enabling high-quality voice calls over the internet.”
With TelOne Connect, the company aims to increase recharge rates from 3% to 8% and expand its customer base. TelOne also plans to grow its active lines by making voice services more accessible across devices, driving growth and revenue.
TelOne has set an ambitious target of 20,000 downloads and activations by December, and is confident that with the support of its customers and partners, this goal can be achieved.
The company is targeting two key segments: residential users, including students, families, and individuals seeking affordable and reliable communication and SMEs, including freelancers, startups, and small businesses needing scalable and flexible voice solutions.
TelOne Connect offers a range of benefits, including mobile access to landline numbers, network agnostic connectivity, advanced security, and a user-friendly interface. The solution is available on both iOS and Google Play, making it easily accessible to a wide range of users.
