Bulawayo -Business tycoon and Presidential Advisor Dr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei has handed over $45,000 in loans to young entrepreneurs in Bulawayo, under a government-led land tenure outreach programme aimed at supporting youth-led businesses, especially in agriculture.

The event, held as part of the Leadership Success Series hosted by Young Women4ED, brought together hundreds of young people. It also saw other groups like Vendors for ED and Pastors for ED receive separate funding, with some getting as much as $200,000.

Dr. Tagwirei used the platform to stress that land is not just soil it is the cornerstone of generational wealth.

“For wealth to move from one generation to the next, we must own land, start businesses, and save. That’s how we build a future where no one starts from scratch,” he said.

He also defended government-aligned business opportunities, urging young people to embrace public tenders and state contracts as legitimate paths to wealth.

“The government is the biggest buyer. If you’re not working with it, how do you expect your business to grow?” he said, citing global examples like Elon Musk.

Tagwirei said President Mnangagwa’s vision is to give land and capital to ordinary Zimbabweans so they can build lasting businesses.

He added that upcoming programmes will offer land on 20-year payment plans, with access to capital support for projects like cattle ranching.

He also called for unity and inclusion, saying land belongs to all Zimbabweans regardless of race, tribe, or background.

“There is no room for racism or tribalism when it comes to land,” he said.

“It must bring us together, not divide us.”

The loan disbursement and the call for entrepreneurship are seen as efforts to make the land reform programme work for the youth.

Tagwirei urged young people to think long-term and embrace entrepreneurship as a patriotic duty that drives national development.
