ZERA increases LPG prices

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced new prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for November 2021.

According to the Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations 90 of 2021, the price of gas increased by 9.6% to USD,05per kilogram, and by 24. ivermectin for fleas on cats 6 percent to ZWL205.75 per kilogram in local currency.

In the previous month (October), ZERA priced LP gas at ZWL165.59 in the local currency and in foreign currency it priced at USD$1.87 per kilogram.

ZERA, however, advised stakeholders that it was permissible for one to sell LPG at prices below the prescribed prices depending one’s trading advantages.

Since 2014, the Petroleum (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) Regulations, officially known as Statutory Instrument 57 of 2014, have imposed various rules on LPG merchants.
“No person shall undertake a business of wholesaling or retailing LPG to consumers and related activities unless under and in compliance with the terms and conditions of a license granted by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority,” according to the regulations.

ZERA has also launched a campaign to ensure that certified LPG standards are strictly followed in the sector.

The campaign aims to educate customers about the dangers of buying LPG from undesignated and unregistered vendors, as well as the importance of reporting unlawful activity to law enforcement agencies and ZERA.

ZERA advises its operators to post pricing in plainly legible lettering in a prominent location at their retail outlets.

“Operators are advised to display the prices at their retail outlets at a prominent place in clearly legible letters”, said ZERA.
