Caps United sponsorship deal with Covver Bottlers is a welcome development for soccer in Zimbabwe

CAPS United FC’s preparations for the forthcoming Castle Lager Premier Soccer Leage football season have received a boost with the Manchester Road Boys unveiling a three-year sponsorship deal.

The top Harare’s football penned the deal with a local beverage brand, Coover Bottlers.

The club, which was formed in 1973, is also known as the Green Machine by their legion of fans.

Coover Bottlers, established in 2018 by Faraimose Kufadzaushe, manufactures fizzy beverages.

Caps United head of commercial and media, Raymond Gonde applauded the partnership with Coover Bottlers.

“In 2023, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary as a club and we are honoured to have partnered with Coover Bottlers for the next three years and this partnership will carry forward the mantra that sport is business,” he said.

The partnership comes at a time when sporting fraternity is recovering from COVID-19 and is set to benefit the coaches, players and technical staff.

Kufadzaushe said: “This partnership has come to ensure that Caps United remains a giant both in football and in business and we are pleased to have partnered with the Green Machine.”

CAPS United FC rose to prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s and its partnership with Coover Bottlers follows previous partnerships with NetOne and ZING, a technological company based in South Africa.
