Zimbabwe has recorded its third coronavirus death since the pandemic was detected in the country although the number of confirmed cases still stands at 11.
In a statement issued last Wednesday, the ministry of health stated that the third person to succumb to Covid-19 was a 50-year old male adult who had travelled to the United Kingdom and returned in the country on March 21. The health officials said the now deceased was on April 2, test positive to Covid-19 with an underlying comorbidity.
“On the 7th of April 2020, he was admitted for critical care and management in ICU at Wilkins Hospital under the care of a specialist physician. Today, 8th of April, 2020, his condition continued to deteriorate despite management in ICU until he deceased this evening,” read a statement from the ministry.
The first covid 19 casualty was Zororo Makamba, a journalist, then followed by a Bulawayo men who died on April 4, 2020.
